Mark Poulin
For Oakland-based Poulin, jewelry-making provides an outlet for his combined loves of sketching and metalwork. He first learned his craft at Studio One Art Center, where he continues to create his whimsical silver-and-enamel pieces. His designs begin as doodles that are refined and made into screenprints; the images are then fired onto the surface of hand-layered enamel. Finally, Poulin embeds the enamel designs in silver settings cast from hand-carved wax models.
